Vol. 4 No. S3 (2020): Folktales from the Islamic coastal kingdom of Tojo
These epic folktales in the Pamonan language of Central Sulawesi were recorded at the turn of the 20th century in the coastal kingdom of Tojo on the Bay of Tomini by the missionary-Linguist Nicolas Adriani, and translated into Dutch. Adriani's transcriptions were translated into Indonesian in Issue 4 Supplement 2. Because of their length and complexity, and Adriani's skill in interpreting the cultural context, Joost Cote has translated this material into English as well, which we present in this issue.
